- Vikings ate, worked and slept in the same longhouse.
- Vikings found wood to make the longhouse.
- The main hall was just over 12 metres long.
- The fire was in the middle of the hall.
- There was a dairy in the hall.
- A longhouse was 5 to 7 meters wide and up to 30 meters long.
- The head of the longhouse had a special chair called a high chair.
- The benches around the room were used for seats and beds.
- The floor was covered with reeds and herbs
