look at our beans!

Room 18 have done a great job taking care of their bean plants. Now it's time to take them home and plant them in the garden and, hopefully, in a month or so, they might even grow some tasty beans to eat!

Book Trailers

Today the children learnt how to make an imovie. Their task was to work in pairs to create a book trailer, that would make people want to read the book, without giving too much of the story away. The rules were that it had to include pictures, text slides, music, sound effects and at least one voice recording, so there were a lot of new skills that had to be mastered! Here are the fab results!

Brilliant Biking!

Wow what a fantastic day we had with the Ride On instructors! As one of the children said, "That was SO worth $5!" We spent the whole morning working on a variety of skills, and then put all these skills together in the afternoon to complete the Ride On bike course. As always, the children were polite and respectful to the adults, listening carefully and putting 100% effort in.

Morning: practising using both brakes, turning, control with one hand, signalling, using gears, keeping a straight line, looking behind

In the afternoon the children had the chance to put all these skills to the test in a really fun and challenging bike course.

Learning to be Cashletes!

Today a man from ASB came to talk to us about all about money! He was funny and entertaining and we learnt heaps.

Rebekah will talk about some of the facts we learnt (although being a bit of an expert she was able to answer a lot of the questions!)
" He told us about the difference between Eftpos Cards and Credit Cards. With a Credit Card you borrow the money from the bank and when you pay it back you pay a little bit more as well. With an eftpos card you can only take out what you put in. PIN stands for Personal Identification Number. They can only be 4 numbers and you musn't tell anyone else. When you get given money you can put it in to the bank, so it's safe and you won't be tempted to spend it. You can get an Eftpos card when you are 12, or if your parents let you, but you have to be 18 to get a Credit Card."
