Drums!

Room 16 has 5 children who are learning the drums with Emma (Ruby's mum), and they gave us a drumming demonstration this week.

Athletics Day is coming!

On Friday we started practising for Athletics Day, which is at the end of Week 3 next Term. Photographing High Jump is always a challenge!

Writing Animal Reports

We have been working on such an interesting writing topic over the last 2 weeks. Me and Mrs Herdman chose some really unusual animals and the children had to watch some videos about them, making very detailed notes. After this, they used their notes to write reports, using success criteria to help them structure the reports into paragraphs with subheadings. The final stage was proofreading and editing, and then getting their reports buddy checked and editing some more! Everyone in the class produced a really fantastic report that they can be proud of. Here are a few of them.

Designing and making cars with Room 17

The covers of 4 Camp Books have already been completed and returned to school, looking fabulous! I can't wait to see the rest :-)

Making battery powered cars

Last week we worked with Room 17 to make battery powered cars, with and without switches. The children had to assemble a lot of different parts and follow a series of instructions on a video. It was a lot harder than it looked and quite a bit of problem solving involved when the cars didn't work!
