We had so much fun today making and eating healthy food, full of a HUGE variety of fruits and vegetables! Here are the wonderful fruit art creations that the children made - and nothing was wasted, as they ate them afterwards!

We worked with our friends in Room 15 today to learn about Still Life art. The children completed several sketches today and then tomorrow they are going to choose our best one to turn into a watercolour.

Yeast Experiments
This week we have been investigating and learning about yeast. I wonder what the children are able to tell someone at home, about what they have learnt about yeast.

Using speech marks
This week the children have been learning about how to use speech in their writing, how to punctuate it correctly and how to make it interesting. After watching an argument between two teachers, the children acted out an argument with their talking partner, and then wrote it down.

Making Bread
On Friday we made bread.
First we mixed warm water, yeast and sugar together and left it to see what would happen....
It started to froth up
Wow look at this one- it went crazy! The children drew and wrote their observations about what was happening.
Then we poured the yeast into the bowl with the other ingredients
Time to knead the dough for ten minutes.
Then we left them in a sunny spot to rise.
When the dough had doubled in size, we kneaded it again, and divided it into 6 portions.
Everyone rolled their dough into a ball.
Ready to go in the oven
Best part: eating them!
