Running Challenge!

We are ploughing through the kilometres in the race we are having with Room 15 and we are now nearly at Kaikoura! All the cross country practice has really helped as the entire course through Harling Park is almost 2km!!! Well done Room 18.

Cross Country

Wow! It looks like Alyssa is working hard to run up that hill! Well done everyone for your hard work in yesterday's cross country!

How to....

Our writing focus for the first 2 weeks of this term is instructions. We have been looking at the language and structure associated with instructions and applied this to writing "How to...." instructions- some serious and some funny!

Cross Country Training

We are getting some extra practise in this week for the school cross country, next Tuesday.

Welcome to Term 3!

Welcome back to school everyone! We have a busy term of activities and learning ahead of us! I'm looking forward to hearing your stories about your holidays and seeing any photos, if you would like to bring them in. My family and I went tramping over the holidays in the beautiful Lake Sumner Forest Park and I spent my birthday sitting in a natural hot pool in the middle of the mountains! As you can see from these photos we had all types of weather.

We were amazed by these fantastic reflections!

Scrumptious Scones!

We had fun making scones this morning for our sharing session. The sharing session was fantastic and it was great eavesdropping on all the great converstaions happening relating to the children's learning this term. A huge thank you to all of the guests who came and you must have enjoyed the scones as there were none left at the end of the day!

Division Experts

Circles have been doing some great work with division this week. They are beginning to understand how to use multiplication to do a division sum and how easy this can make division to do. It has also shown them how important it is to know their times tables. Here is some of their fantastic work.

Well done circles. Some great work that your all doing. From Mckenzie

Running Progress

We are making fantastic progress with our attempt to run from Invergargil to Blenheim! I say "we" but of course it is the children who are running, while I am just giving encouragement and helping to add up the kilometres!! We are now at Timaru, meaning we are nearly half way to Blenheim.
