Sharing Easter Treats

Have a look at Room 8's blog on the link below. There are some pictures on there from the treats we made for our Little Buddies. Wasn't it great making them happy? It certainly shows how great it feels to give!

All Aboard!

Climbing on the train I feel the wind blowing through my hair. Toot Toot! The train starts moving very slowly. The hot rays of sunlight shine in to the carriage of the green train like they are trying to sizzle me. The train slowly rolls under the bridge and everyone screams loudly. Slowly the train comes to a stop. We wait for a while for the train to start to drive again. Wow! The train's driving carriage unhooks and it moves to the other side of the train. Digital Citizenship

As part of our ongoing digital Citizenship programme, the children did some work on digital footprints with Mrs Buzant, this week. This is intended to help them to become aware of the information that they post online about themselves.
Here are 2 explanations about the task.

Is Witherlea Stream healthy?

Anna Crowe, who is a River Ecologist, visited us today and took us down to the Witherlea Stream to answer the question: Is the stream healthy? In order to answer the question we had to take the temperature of the stream, fill and look down a clarity tube, use a net to collect and examine the critters living there, test the flow, and make a series of observations.
We'll be repeating our investigation next week at Pine Valley. I wonder how different we'll find Pine Valley Stream to the Witherlea Stream? We can't wait to find out!

Hugh's Kowhai Trip Writing

The streamy river                               Walking by the streaming flat river, wadling under the stable concrete bridge, hearing all types of vehicles driving straight over us. Ruff! ruff! I hear a black labrador trying to get a dead animal out of the long dry grass and other dogs waiting for us to walk past. Mrs Renfrew turns into athletic park.In my hard head, I am thinking what are we doing? Then we all start to walk into athletic park. We are doing a notebook check to see how many things we hear and see on our way to Pollard
Park and have a quick drink.
