Te Powhiri
We have been learning all about Te Powhiri in preparation for our trip to Omaka Marae, next Thursday. We learnt about everything that happens during a Powhiri, and what each parts means. It certainly has been a challenge for us all (including the teachers!) to learn the correct words, but we have been trying our very best. Here are the children from Room 16 and Room 12 working together on the Powhiri activities, and also practising the hongi.
